Hola Familia,
Well family, I hardly have any time at all! It´s been AWESOME reading all of your emails and finding out what is going on at home. I love hearing about you all and what you are doing. Keep working hard all of you, and Christopher, just go ahead and take a break from basketball… Have fun, enjoy life! I heard a quote once, Happiness isn´t a destination, it´s the journey. Something like that. Just love life.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for my birthday package! Can I just tell you how awesome you are? I opened that package with all of the pictures, good food, ties, and everything, and couldn´t be any happier. Those pictures are SO awesome. It´s crazy to see how many people have changed SO MUCH. (Sister McKinlay, I didn´t even recognize her, Cody Madsen, it took me a good minute or two to figure out who he was, Lacee Brown, wow she´s changed, Kali Persons, WOW everyone is growing up!) At the same time, It´s been so fun to see how many people haven´t really changed!
Well, I already have to get off of the internet, but can I just tell you the difference a week makes! We received 7 references from members, through activities and everything. THIS WARD IS CHANGING! I´m so happy, all of your prayers are working. Thank you for your faith and everything. I love Patzicia!
Dad, I love you much and I hope your fathers day was awesome.
Love you all so much, and I´ll see you soon. Keep sending quotes and recipes! They´re awesome. I love this place and love this challenge that i´ve had in my mission.
LOVE YOU MUCH, SEE YA!
Answers to questions:
1. We moved in with the Stake President, but we live in a part that is really separated from the family, They live downstairs, and there are two little rooms upstairs where we live. It´s been awesome living with this family. They´re great. Supposedly they were going to have someone email you because they want Brother Redd to bring a laptop computer… Has he been able to get a hold of the President? I talked to him about everything, and it sounds good. He wanted me to tell Brother Redd that they don´t need to bring any women´s clothing… Almost all of the women use Corte… haha
2. I found out that I can get vitamins and allergy stuff from the little pharmacies, Thanks for everything you´ve sent, and now just don´t worry i´ll see what I can do here! Sorry it took so long for me to figure that out!
3. I haven´t gotten a duffle bag yet, but i´m going to see what I can do about that. I haven´t gotten new running shoes, i´m just going to use the ones I have for now, but i´ll let you know if I need some new ones. I think I might get some soccer shoes. Ha! Who´d of thought. My clothes are all doing really well, I´ve been trying to take care of them… So no worries! The only thing I can think of clothes wise is ties, but I´ve got a bunch and i´ll just trade them when I get sick of them…
4. I´m glad you found the plantains! Now fry them up with some sugar and oil and make some eggs and refried beans, you all will be puros chapines! There are some weird vegetables and stuff that i´ve eaten but i´m not sure what they´re called. Our cook gave us this thing that kind of looks like a green pumpkin… I thought it was pretty weird tasting with the texture and all…. Then I realized I was eating the outside peel part that I wasn´t supposed to eat… ha oops. Nobody said anything.. thanks a lot! Haha
5. I received an email from Brother Redd. I realized that there will be changes before the Sunday that they come, but i´m expecting to still be here in Patzicia. I think i´ll probably be here a while, so no worries. I can´t email Brother Redd back, but there are a few things that maybe you could tell him for me:
For some reason a LOT of people on tours like to come to Patzicia and give away the “Goods”. The wife of the stake president told me that a lot of the time the bishops go through it and pick out the good stuff and then leave the rest for the other people here… Then the members who really might not need it as bad come through and take the rest. If they really want to give it to the people who need it, they need to find a way to talk to Presidente Cua and his wife, and they can help distribute it better. They don´t have internet so they have to go to a internet café… He sends his son to go check the emails and stuff. So Email might not be the best way to go. He´s the type of person that is really hard (OK, borderline impossible) to get a hold of unless you show up at his house… Keep emailing me and i´ll keep trying to help!
